Ralph Wallace Asks What About Fuji?

Posted May. 27th, 2017 by Daniel J. Cox

Dan – I have used MFT gear (the Olympus Pen E-PL5 with a variety of lenses). I liked the 17mm f/1.8 a lot and found the 14-42mm “kit” lens to be surprisingly good. I have thought about the Panasonic GH5 but don’t shoot that much video. Recently rented an amazing Fuji X-Pro2 with their blazingly fast 56mm f/1.2 {84mm field of view}. Have you tested, looked at or blogged about Fuji X-mount gear? Any Fuji opinions or observations? Regards, Ralph Wallace in the north woods of WI.

Good to hear from you Ralph. I’ve not had a chance to really test many Fuji lenses or cameras. I did a basic test of their new 100-400mm zoom which I was very impressed with. This particular lens was incredibly sharp. I do have plans to test this lens with the XT-2 again in the near future. I want to reshoot my Predictive AF tests to include the XT-2. In the past, based on reports I’ve read, Fuji has had less than stellar Predictive AF capabilities. I would like to test that for myself. Stay tuned to the blog for this updated test sometime mid-July. I can’t do it any sooner since I’m currently in Europe for the next six weeks.
