Firmware For Olympus & Lumix
Firmware for Olympus & Lumix cameras and lenses were recently released. All these new updates are announced at close to the same time as the new Olympus OM-1.
The new OM Digital Solutions is on a roll. Not only did they announce an amazing new camera, the OM-1, but they’re following that up with new firmware for all current camera models. Lumix has released lens firmware updates only. No camera updates for Lumix.
Update 2/3/2022
In my original post, I made a couple of glaring mistakes on the firmware versions for the Olympus E-M1X and the E-M1 Mark lll. I’ve fixed those mistakes in this update. I apologize for any inconvenience. My only lame excuse is I was headed out the door for an assignment and the Olympus website is not any better organized than I was for my last post. For a much more detailed and properly organized list of the most current firmware versions available for all micro four thirds cameras and lenses visit the Joint Update Service For Interchangeable Lens Micro Four Thirds Cameras. This is the most current and least confusing way to see the most current firmware available for your cameras and lenses.

Download OM Workspace to Get Camera Updates
Olympus does firmware updates differently than many other camera companies. They require that you download the OM Workspace software. This page gives you the details. Once downloaded, open the software and select the Camera tab on the upper right side of the OM Workspace window.

Lumix Releases Lens Firmware Updates
Along with the Olympus, Lumix also has firmware updates for many of its lenses. You can find firmware updates for the specific lenses and camera bodies on this page. I’m a firm believer in firmware. No pun intended. It’s one of the greatest benefits of our digital cameras, that they get updated on a regular basis. Don’t be afraid to get your cameras updated and do it today.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the “heads up”. I’ll check which of my LUMIX lenses can use the new firmware. 👀📷
