Yellowstone Photo Tour 2014 – Day 2

Posted Jan. 12th, 2014 by Daniel J. Cox

Our second day in the park included photographs of bison, bald eagle, coyote, goldeneye ducks, trumpeter swans and the beautiful scenics. Light snow fell most of the day and once again the clouds broke somewhat at the end of the day. Our highlight was an elk that somehow had died the night before – there was no obvious wolf predation. Coyotes found it and we spent most the morning trying to get their pictures. Unfortunately the carcass was very close to the road and in a deep ravine so when they did come in it was impossible to get any images of them actually on the carcass. It was a gray morning but one that everybody enjoyed, spending the needed time to try and get the images we all see in the pages of National Geographic.
