Saturday, June 5 & Sunday, June 6 (2B, 1D)
Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, and its dynamic history dates back five millennia. We’ll spend two full days wandering the enchanting streets of Old Town, capturing the famous Triple Bridge, baroque churches, colorful architecture, and of course, the castle overlooking the city. To celebrate our time here, we’ll dine one evening at Ljubljana Castle, featuring one of the country’s finest restaurants, which highlights the city’s vibrant food scene. We’ll get a chance to try our hand at street photography while getting candid portraits along the cafe-strewn riverbanks and at the city’s bustling marketplace, which is full of fresh local produce. Overnight at the Occidental Ljubljana (or similar)
Monday, June 7 (B, L, D)
Today, we’ll depart the capital and drive toward the Mediterranean climate of the Southwest. On the way, we’ll stop at Štanjel, a picturesque medieval village perched on a hill. Photograph its unique stone houses and the famous, culturally important architectural monument known as the Ferrari Garden. Enjoy a light, fresh lunch in the town, and later in the day, we’ll check into a family-owned estate in the Vipava Valley. Sunset shoot over endless vineyards. Overnight at Čebron Family Estate (or similar)
Tuesday, June 8 (B, L)
Today, we’ll explore the Vipava Valley’s ancient stone villages, rolling hills, and terraced vineyards. Visit a top local winemaker to taste and photograph traditional wine varieties like Zelen and Rebula. In the evening, we head to the village of Goče to explore its narrow streets and visit a 600-year-old wine cellar. Finish the day with an exceptional home-cooked feast of authentic dishes. Overnight at Čebron Family Estate (or similar)
Wednesday, June 9 (B, L, D)
After a hearty breakfast, our journey takes us to the northeast part of Slovenia. This region offers a completely different landscape and culinary tradition. Along the drive, you can expect to see rolling hills, traditional homesteads, and small churches. Arrive in the Kozjansko region and check into our hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll photograph the soft light hitting the vibrant green hills. Dinner introduces us to the hearty and comforting flavors typical of this eastern region. Overnight at Wellness Hotel Sotelia (or similar)
Thursday, June 10 & Friday, June 11 (2B, 1D)
Explore hidden corners of the Kozjansko and Štajerska regions for two days. We’ll focus on the traditional wooden houses and the vast apple orchards that look beautiful in June. Meet the locals to capture authentic portraits and document their rural lives. We’ll meet beekeepers, potters, and herbalists to see their crafts up close. We also savor authentic farm-to-table food and fruit spirits, adding a delicious sensory experience to our photographic journey. Overnight at Wellness Hotel Sotelia (or similar)
Saturday, June 12 (B, L, D)
Today, we’ll leave the Kozjansko region and make our way to Lake Bled. We’ll pass through scenic mountain backdrops along the way, toward the dramatic peaks of the Julian Alps. Upon arrival at Lake Bled, we’ll have some free time to get settled in at the hotel and admire the spectacular views. Here we will spend the last couple of days. This evening, we’ll gather for a special dinner at Bled Castle, and we’ll take the opportunity to photograph the lake’s iconic island from the castle’s terrace. Overnight at Hotel Park Bled (or similar)
Sunday, June 13 & Monday, June 14 (2B, 1L, 1D)
We’ll dedicate two full days exploring this beautiful region, where peaks of the Julian and Kamnik-Savinja Alps decorate the skyline. Start the days off with a sunrise shoot on the shores of captivating Lake Bled, as the morning light hits the island church. Slovenia’s largest glacial lake awaits us: Lake Bohinj. Nature lovers will enjoy this serene paradise and its picture-perfect reflections on the glass-like water. One morning, we can travel to Jamnik to photograph its beautiful church, perched perfectly on a lush, green hilltop, or we can go to St. Thomas for a taste of Slovenia’s most famous sunrise views. We’ll be sure to take in the local culture and rural life in these picturesque villages. The days end with excellent meals, ranging from traditional alpine stews to refined modern cuisine. Overnight at Hotel Park Bled (or similar)
