2027 Croatia Plitvice Lakes National Park Photography Extension Travel Plans

Continue with Natural Exposures from the 2027 Slovenia Photography Tour.

After breakfast, we say farewell to Slovenia and drive to a stunning national park in Croatia – Plitvice Lakes National Park. We’ll head straight into Plitvice after check-in at Hotel Degenija (4-star, or similar) for evening photography and a sunset shoot.

Wednesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 17

The waters of Plitvice Lakes, flowing over the limestone and chalk, have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers. This created natural dams, which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves, and waterfalls.

We’ll have two full days to photograph this incredible UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll have the opportunity to try different photography techniques, including using tripods and long exposures, as well as work on composition. Enjoy free time exploring the lakes alone before meeting in the late afternoon to make the most of the golden light and reflections in the waters.

Friday, June 18

Morning photography in the park. We’ll visit one of the sunrise locations at Plitvice Lakes or head to nearby Rastoke village, where the Korana River created another set of beautiful waterfalls and cascades. Transfer to Zagreb Airport (airport code ZAG, 2-hour drive), or you can depart from Ljubljana Airport (airport code LJU, 4-hour drive) to catch your flight home.

Please depart Zagreb (ZAG) at 1:40 pm or later, or depart Ljubljana (LJU) at 5:00 pm or later. Note: An airport transfer fee applies if you depart before the noted times.
