2027 Canadian Bald Eagles & Coastal Wildlife III Travel Plans

Wednesday, July 7 (D)

Arrive in Seattle (airport code SEA) by 6:00 pm and transfer by Lyft, Uber, taxi, or light rail to the Holiday Inn Express Bothell (or similar). We’ll gather for a group welcome dinner tonight. Overnight at the Holiday Inn Express Bothell (or similar)

In the following days, while staying at the lodge, our schedule is below, but may be adjusted due to weather, the tide, and/or other circumstances beyond our control.

Thursday, July 8 (L, D)

  • Gather this morning at the hotel and transfer as a group to the float-plane terminal for the lodge flight.
  • Arrive around noon for lunch.
  • Join a short introduction to the wildlife, bald eagle flight photography, and recommended camera settings.
  • Begin the afternoon photography excursion for the best bald eagle action photography you will ever see, followed by drinks and dinner at the lodge.

Friday, July 9 (B, L, D)

  • Start with breakfast and a daily photography briefing.
  • Travel by boat early to search the shoreline for black or brown bears, subject to the tide.
  • Return to the lodge for lunch and a short break.
  • Photograph eagles in the afternoon, then review images and techniques after dinner.

Saturday, July 10 (B, L, D)

  • Start with breakfast and a daily photography briefing.
  • Follow sightings of whales, dolphins, sea lions, and seals by boat.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch on the water.
  • Continue the marine wildlife search, then return for a late-afternoon bald eagle session.
  • After dinner, head out for a short eagle sunset shoot.

Be sure to check out the article Dan wrote for PetaPixel about shooting Pacific white-sided dolphins on the 2026 trips!

Sunday, July 11 (B, L, D)

  • Begin with breakfast and a photography briefing.
  • Travel by boat for whales, dolphins, sea lions, and seals.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch on the boat, a late-afternoon bald eagle session, dinner, and an eagle sunset shoot.

Monday, July 12 (B, L)

  • Begin with breakfast and then photograph wildlife near the lodge.
  • Fly back to Seattle today.
  • Depart Seattle: Fly from the lodge back to Seattle today on Kenmore Air. Based on the 2026 Kenmore Air flight schedule, the group is expected to arrive back in Seattle today at approximately 5:30 pm. However, the exact 2027 Kenmore Air flight schedule is not expected to be confirmed until around January 2027. If you opt to book your flights before the 2027 Kenmore Air schedule is finalized, we suggest booking a later evening flight from Seattle, or you may want to stay overnight in Seattle. An Uber, Lyft, or taxi from Kenmore Air to SEA usually takes about an hour, but traffic could lengthen the trip. Additionally, the flight is subject to delay due to weather or other factors.

Have you ever explored the Woodinville Hollywood District? It offers wonderful wine tasting rooms, great restaurants, and an area that’s easy to explore on foot. It’s only about a 10-15 minute Uber, Lyft, or taxi ride from our group hotel in Bothell on the first night of the trip.

The Hollywood District is also home to a beautiful lavender field that should be in full bloom in early July, perfect for photos! We visited in 2026 and thought it was well worth seeing. Arrive in Seattle a day early (or depart later) to explore Woodinville. If you’d like help with booking the hotel before or after the trip, we’re happy to help with arrangements!
