Small Cameras, Huge Momentum

As I predicted, 2014 is shaping up to be the year of the mirrorless camera and Micro Four Thirds in particular. On every photo tour we take, I hear from our Explorers that they are tired of carrying around their huge DSLR’s and the accompanying lenses. They see the small and powerful Lumix system I’m using and they want to know more. The major camera companies have been saying that people don’t want the smaller cameras due to the superior quality the large DSLR’s provide. But that’s not what I’m hearing nearly every day I’m with people in the field. They want to shed the weight!

This week another major company, JVC, has joined the growing number of manufacturers supporting the Micro Four Thirds consortium. They’ve announced a 4K video camera that will take all the Micro Four Thirds lenses. Great news for moving this amazing and inspiring technology forward.
