Pacific Northwest Rainforest
The Pacific Northwest is home to the world’s largest temperate rainforest, stretching from northern California to southeast Alaska. My recent scouting trip brought me to this beautiful scene of a very young rainforest. These trees would have been 10-20 feet in circumference a hundred years ago. But due to clear-cut logging, only 18% of old-growth forests survive. You can find out more by visiting Conservation Northwest. Also, be sure to add your voice to the US Forest Service’s Plan to Prepare for a Changing Climate.
Watch your inbox for information on an amazing new spot I’ve found to photograph bald eagles like I’ve never seen them before. Other potential wildlife includes black bears and grizzlies. If you’re on Facebook and have traveled with us, make sure you’re a member of our private Natural Exposures Explorers group. This group is for NE Explorers only, that is, those who have traveled with us. If you need an invite, please send an email to Jill at info@naturalexposures.com. I’ll share some of the photos I shot during this scouting trip on this private NE Explorers Facebook group, but they won’t be published on our general Natural Exposures Facebook page.
