One of my summer goals has been to get out of the office and start to re-explore my own backyard. I moved to Montana back in the 80’s due to the state’s amazing wild places and the animals that call it home. Over time, Tanya and I began to travel the world with our Natural Exposures Invitational Photo Tours. It’s been a great way to earn a living, but I’m yearning to stay a bit closer to home. With that in mind, I’ve been on a mission to figure out a photo tour around SW Montana, Yellowstone, and possibly the Grand Tetons.
This image of Slough Creek was shot on one of these scouting trips. Slough Creek is located in the upper section of Yellowstone, and its wide open spaces offer dramatic landscapes. Along with beautiful scenery, it’s a great place to photograph bison, elk, antelope, and other critters.
