During the last few years I’ve been traveling more than at any time in my career. In every place I visit, I’ve come to expect the people I work with telling me how their climate is getting warmer.
This beautiful lavender field in the Provence region of France is the most recent place I’ve heard locals lament the changing climate. In December 2015, National Geographic produced a story featuring this region and the issues facing lavender and olive tree farmers. It’s all a very similar story,it used to be cold at a certain time of year, and today that cold doesn’t come at all, or it arrives an average of 4-8 weeks later.
