Good Friend & Fellow Photographer Takes His Cameras to The Other Side
Robert Taylor, a good friend and well respected photographer, naturalist, and artist lost his battle with cancer last Thursday. Robert was a great guy. I spent many days viewing and photographing polar bears with him at Cape Churchill. Robert came down with cancer a couple of years ago and he fought a great fight to the very end. I’ve put together a small collection of images that I believe exudes his positive spirt. These were taken last year in Churchill during a VIP event for Polar Bears International.
Robert was very sick even then but you would never have known it. He was still cracking his infamous mediocre jokes and having a great time taking photos of one of his favorite subjects. Robert was fortunate to have spent most of his life doing what he loved to do, natural history photography. We will all miss him and I’m hopeful someday we will meet again. If and when that happens I’m confident he’ll have a Nikon camera in his hands. Read more about Robert in the Winnipeg Free Press.
