Trip notes
Whooper swans slid to a skillful stop on the frozen lake. Japanese red-crowned cranes performed exotic dances as they sought the approval of their intended mates. White-tailed and steller’s eagles demonstrated their fishing skills in the harbor of Rausu, Japan. Dan and Tanya Cox put our party of 10 photographers in the best position to capture the beauty of these magnificent birds. But that wasn’t all. We spent 3 days photographing the entertaining and adorable snow monkeys at Jigokudani National Park near Nagano. All the logistics of trip were thoughtfully arranged by Tanya, her assistant Jill, and a delightful local guide. Dan was always eager to assist with any photo questions. It was a rewarding trip and one that I highly recommend.
