Trip notes

What a beautiful place! A little on the warm and humid side, but once I got past that, I had a wonderful time. The assortment of animals to capture is amazing. Try as I might, I never got a good shot of a chocolate-mint dart frog. So I will have to go back sometime. As usual, traveling with Tanya and Dan is an amazing experience. Wish I could do it all the time, but I don’t have enough vacation time.

What a life changing experience to see these animals in their natural environment! Everyday was a breath taking experience that I will always appreciate. Seeing Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop in Amboseli was so special. When I walked into my tent at Mara Intrepids, I wanted to stay there forever!(until the monkey got in my tent) After the cleanup, I still wanted to stay forever. Hearing the animals at night was wild, hippos plopping in the river next to my tent, the rain hitting the canvas during a storm. Images and memories I will take with me forever.

Trip notes

This was my first and only time so far for Yellowstone in Winter. It was so different from the summer experiences as a child. It was a very gray 4 days, so photography wasn’t easy, but Dan made the best of it, trying to teach us newbies something to remember.
