While I have wanted to photograph the fence made out of wheels for some time, I was happy to discover that the entire region offered up interesting and beautiful things to photograph at every turn. It was fun to spend time with friends I have made on other trips and make some new ones too.

Romania is a lovely country. I particularly enjoyed their strong craft tradition which is alive and well. It was interesting to visit Romania right after Cuba which is still communist. We could see that Romania has come a long way but the years of communism are going to take some time to erase. I have not doubt that the hard working people of Romania will do just that. I will be interested, now, to follow them in their journey.

This was an exciting trip that shook me out of any photographic complacency that I might have had. I expect that my style of shooting has been influenced by those bolder then I and they (Fred) have prompted me to start to come to grips with Lightroom too. On top of all that Cuba was an unbelievably interesting place. I just loved everything about it. Our guides did a great job telling the Cuban American and Cuban sides of the story.
