Explorer’s Showcase Coming

Posted Oct. 24th, 2013 by Daniel J. Cox

As many of you know we recently launched a completely new website. Even so, we’re still making changes and adding new ideas. Our web team, Manifest Creative, is hard at work on a concept I presented to them a few months ago. The plan is to have the Explorer’s Home Page showcase more of the stunning images  each of our Explorer’s uploads after returning from one of our Invitational Photo Tours.

The ability to upload photos to the Explorers section is only open to those who travel with us but anybody can view their beautiful images. With this new update, other Explorers will have the ability to rate their fellow traveler’s photographs. The best rated photos will make their way to the home page to be presented in an ongoing collage/collection view. Kind of hard to explain so above is a very rough little video/screen cast our head web guy, Philip, did for me last night. I’m so excited about how this is all coming together I wanted to share it with our readers. Please note this video is a screen cast and Philip didn’t clear his monitor completely so just pay attention to the middle part of the screen where, as Philip describes it, the “Magic” happens.

Thanks Christine. Philip our web guru just sent me a link to a working page. Still has a few bugs but he’s squashing them as he likes to say. I think it’s going to be the best part of our new web site. I’m very excited about getting it out to you all.
