Christine Crosby Finalist in NANPA’s 2014 Showcase

Posted Feb. 13th, 2015 by Jill Mangum

Beloved friend and NE Explorer Christine Crosby entered 18 wonderful photographs into NANPA’s showcase this past year. She did exceptionally well, with 13 of the 18 photos being selected at the semi-finalist level or above, and ten of those at the finalist level and above!

Each year, a NANPA jury panel selects the top 250 out of thousands of submitted photos for their Showcase gallery. These 250 represent some of the best work NANPA members produce. For more information, please visit the NANPA website.

Christine’s finalist photos are shown in the slideshow below. The baby guanaco was selected at the top 250/Journal level, and the whooper swans, the cormorant with the fish, and the pair of toucans were all in the top 120/Showcase level. We love sharing stories like this about our Explorers! Look for Christine’s photos in NANPA’s Expressions magazine, expected to come out toward the end of this month. Way to go Christine; keep up the great work!

“I’m so excited and so incredibly grateful to both of you!! Without you I would not have ANY of these images!!!! You kept my world vibrant and open, when it otherwise easily could have shut down. You gave me a voice and a means with which to continue to express myself (creatively and otherwise). I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to me! I am so very grateful to you both!! More than words can say!! Thank you SO much!!!”

Christine every one of these images is absolutely wonderful. You are such a talented photographer and deserve all of the accolades that you are receiving. I am so thrilled to keep up with all that is going on with you. And for anyone reading this who doesn’t know Christine, she is one of the kindest, most humble, gracious, and artistic people I know. Congratulations Christine for the well-deserved recognition from NANPA. I honestly think this is just the beginning of much more recognition of and many more honors for your work. Hugs to you Christine…Alison

Peter, becoming a NE Explorer is easy. The only requirement is that you have to have traveled with us on at least one of our Invitational Photo Tours. After each tour we encourage all our Explorers to upload 25 of thier favorite images from that particular trip. That’s all ther is to it. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for stopping by.

I was interested in how to submit some photos into contests that you are having. I have some hilarious wildlife photos that truly shoe “Life captured in the moment” for instance I have a great blue Heron that was flipping a fish around & I got the fish peeing.
How do I get more involved with your awesome site?

Marty, we don’t hold any contests. The photos we present are those shot by our Explorers. Sorry for the confusion.

Those are incredible photographs. What led you to be able to take those images?

Jeff Williams . . . truly incredible mentorship from Dan Cox and the amazing opportunities of Natural Exposures trips are what lead me to be able to get these images. Animals and wildlife have always been an integral part of my life and I’ve spent huge pieces of my life learning, studying and observing all kinds of behaviors and body language but I would not have been able to capture these images without my experiences with Natural Exposures.
