Aperture X? WWDC This Monday? Lets Hope The Sign Says It All

Posted Jun. 7th, 2013 by Daniel J. Cox

There have been numerous signs of Apple getting ready to release an updated version of my favorite photography program, Aperture. WWDC, the World Wide Developers Conference is this next Monday and Apple has been preparing the Moscone Center in San Francisco with graphics that are hinting at a redo of iOS 7 and a sign stating simply, “X”. Could this be Aperture X, Oh Lordy I’m hoping so. Who knows what the X stands for but there have been numerous signs that the update is coming. Just a few days to find out for sure. I’m really hopeful it’s going to  be an exciting Monday. Stay tuned.

Is this the X we've all been waiting for? I sure hope so.

Well, didn’t think they’d introduce any new stand alone software.

Curious why you thought the X meant a possible Aperture release?
Apple typically attaches a phrase to any event that unveils new software etc.
They often leave clues like when they introduced the Beatles music library to iTunes.
I didn’t see anything that indicted this was nothing but an iOS and OSX update

Yea, well just wishful thinking as it turns out. Guess nobody is perfect.

I’m pretty sure that Apple wouldn’t devote such a prominent banner for the update of one small application. As much as my heart skipped a beat when I saw it, I’ve learnt not to get my hopes up as far as Aperture is concerned.
    Fingers crossed though.

WWDC is usually where Apple unveils their next operating system.
Not sure if they will release a new version of Aperture but it will certainly deal with iOS7 and OS10.9.

There’s rumors of a new Mac Pro coming out later this year. That might be a good time to unveil new software.

Yes, I was thinking the same about a possible Fall release. Got sucked in to hoping when I saw that X. I have a feeling your time slot is probably more accurate. We shall see.
