  Monday, July 6 (D)

  Arrive in Seattle (airport code SEA) by 6:00 pm and transfer by Lyft, Uber, ot taxi to the Courtyard Marriott Lake Union Downtown Seattle. We’ll gather for a group welcome tonight. Overnight at Courtyard Marriott Lake Union Downtown Seattle or similar

  In the following days, while staying at the lodge, our schedule is below, but may be adjusted due to weather, the tide, and/or other circumstances beyond our control.

  Tuesday, July 7 (L, D)

  • Meet in the hotel lobby to walk over to the float plane base for our flight to the lodge.
  • Arrive at the lodge at around noon for lunch.
  • After lunch, there will be a 30-minute presentation on what you can expect to see, along with a discussion about how to photograph bald eagles in flight, including recommended camera settings.
  • Afternoon – excursion to start the best bald eagle action photography you will ever see!
  • Pre-dinner drinks on the deck or in the lodge
  • Dinner

  Wednesday, July 8 (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast
  • After breakfast, before leaving for the day, there will be a brief presentation on what you will see, what to expect, how to photograph the subject of the day, and recommended camera settings.
  • Travel by boat early to find black or brown bears on the shoreline (dependent on a low tide).
  • Lunch – back to the lodge for lunch and a short break
  • Afternoon – excursion to photograph eagles
  • Pre-dinner drinks on the deck or in the lodge
  • Dinner
  • After dinner work session – review images, discuss techniques, improvements, and solve problems that may have arisen during your shoots.

  Thursday, July 9 (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast
  • After breakfast, before leaving for the day, there will be a brief presentation on what you will see, what to expect, how to photograph the subject of the day, and recommended camera settings.
  • Morning – Travel by boats, following sightings of whales, dolphins, sea lions, and seals.
  • Lunch – picnic lunch on boat(s)
  • Afternoon – continue whale and dolphin search, return to Lodge area for late afternoon bald eagle shoot
  • Pre-dinner drinks on the deck or in the lodge
  • Dinner
  • After dinner, a short one-hour excursion for an eagle sunset photo shoot

  Friday, July 10 (B, L, D)

  • Breakfast
  • After breakfast, before leaving for the day, there will be a brief presentation on what you will see, what to expect, how to photograph the subject of the day, and recommended camera settings.
  • Morning – Travel by boats and follow sightings of whales, dolphins, sea lions, and seals
  • Lunch – picnic lunch on boat(s)
  • Afternoon – continue whale and dolphin search, return to Lodge area for late afternoon bald eagle shoot

  • Dinner

  Saturday, July 11 (B, L)

  • Breakfast
  • Morning photography of available wildlife close to the lodge
  • Early lunch
  • Flight from the Lodge to Seattle. The group is scheduled to arrive back in Seattle at the Kenmore/Lake Washington Terminal at 6:00 pm. However, weather delays, etc., are possible. An Uber/taxi from Kenmore/Lake Washington Terminal to SEA usually takes about an hour, but with traffic, it could take longer. We suggest booking a later evening flight, or you may want to stay the night in Seattle.

    Deposits are non-refundable. If cancellations are necessary, we require this request in writing. We will do our best to resell your space. Only if we can resell your space, we will refund (minus the deposit and discounts given to sell your space). No partial refunds are possible for unused services.

    Note: US citizens will need a passport for travel to the lodge in Canada!

  July 6 (1 night)
  Courtyard Marriott Lake Union Downtown Seattle or similar
  Courtyard Seattle Downtown/South Lake Union is just steps from the Space Needle and South Lake Union. Enjoy modern comforts like free high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-panel TVs, ergonomic workstations, plush beds, and a modern gym. We’ll be gathering for a welcome dinner at a restaurant to be determined.

  July 7-10 (4 nights)
  Our lodge, overlooking the beautiful coastline of British Columbia, was started by a father and son team in 1998 after they purchased a cabin and four acres. Over the next four months, the lodge, docks, and guest house buildings were built by them, along with a host of tradesmen. As the last carpenter went out the back door, the first guests arrived in May of 1998.

  Operating continuously since then, 2026 will be the lodge’s 28th year in business. Lodge facilities, kitchen, outbuildings, and amenities have been upgraded every year to provide the best fishing and adventure lodge in the Pacific Northwest. Private guest rooms with private bath. Gourmet meals. Wifi, exercise area, fire pit, yard games…

  Our hosts cater to selective families and groups seeking upscale accommodations, fishing, and eco-tours in an intimate setting. Their service-oriented staff offers a unique blend of urban comfort and wilderness adventure.

  GENERAL

  We will be traveling by float plane on our first day. For the remainder of the trip, we will mostly be on Zodiacs.

  Please note: The schedule may change if circumstances are out of our control, including weather.

  ACTIVITY LEVEL

  Each day, we will need to walk to the dock to board our Zodiacs, which will require two sets of ramps. Getting to your room may require one set of stairs. There are always staff with carts on hand to help with luggage and equipment. There could be some light hiking for those who want to partake.

  WEATHER

  Temperatures this time of year should be in the mid-50s to mid-70s. Along the coast, there’s always the chance of rain, and we won’t have the ability to get out of the rain when on the boat. Therefore, good rain gear is essential.

  PASSPORT and VISAS

  A visa is not required for US citizens for stays less than 180 days. Your passport must be valid at the time of entry. One blank passport page is required for the entry stamp. Please visit the US Department of State – Bureau of Consular Affairs for the most up-to-date entry requirements.

  VACCINATIONS

  Please visit the CDC for the latest vaccination recommendations and health notices for travel to Canada.

  CURRENCY

  The currency of Canada is the Canadian dollar, but you should not need to exchange any money for this trip.

  ELECTRICITY

  In Canada, power plugs and sockets (outlets) of type A and type B are used. The standard voltage is 120 V at a frequency of 60 Hz.
