Explorer Christine Crosby’s Successful Juried Art Show
We love to see our Explorers doing well, taking great photos, then getting them in front of the public. Christine Crosby has been doing all of the above. Christine and Paul joined us in Patagonia earlier this year, then Christine came along to Machu picchu a little later. Her photography has improved dramatically since she really started working at it and her recent successes show she’s working hard.
Here’s a short excerpt from a recent email Christine shared with us explaining her recent juried art show in Oregon.
It was the 4th annual Sunriver Art Faire which is a local highly competitively juried fine art show with 65 artists. It is sponsored by the Sunriver Women’s Club, a community service organization which has raised over $40,000.00 in grants to 16 non-profit organizations serving our Central Oregon area. http://www.sunriverartfaire.com. It was a wonderful opportunity to share my photography in my first peer juried and publicly displayed setting and the positive response to my images was wonderful if not a little overwhelming. It also was such a great opportunity to talk conservation with people who were so obviously drawn to the specific animals and places portrayed in the photographs. Most of my images were printed on canvas. I also had sets of notecards and 3 books on display of collected photographs – – Patagonia, Wildflowers of Central Oregon and Frogs. They can all be found athttp://www.blurb.com/user/store/phoeandco. My photography only website is www.sunlight.smugmug.com.
Christine has other hobby’s as well. She raises beautiful black labs and produces stunning jewelry. You can see her dogs and jewelry on her web site at Sun Light Inspirations.
